Introduction
On 9 January 2000 Dennis and Angela (friends of me) visited me. Dennis told me that he would go to Barcelona next week for business, and that he would combine it with a short holiday. They asked me if I would join them. I wanted to have a short holiday this or next month, and Barcelona was one of my places I still wanted to visit, so it wasn't a difficult decision to join them. Next day I reserved tickets for the flight and the hotel, and just a week later we went away to this nice spanish city.

Why Barcelona?
Years ago I got a tape of one of my favourite bands, The Alan Parsons Project. It was called "Gaudi". I'm always interested in the thoughts of the musicians, why they wrote the music. So I went to a library to see who's that person called Gaudi. I found a beautiful book, telling everything about him and his work. From that moment I never forget Gaudi anymore. I got more and more interested in him, saw TV programs, read some articles. Much of his work can be found in Barcelona. So that's the main reason why I wanted to visit this city...
